In this system, truck owner operator, who is usually the owner of the truck, both drives the truck and also has the ability to issue invoices by establishing a sole proprietorship and obtaining an authorisation certificate from the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Turkey.
In Turkey, there are approximately 1 million individual transporters who own trucks with the ability to issue invoices. While a large part of the individual transporters buy and transport freight from the spot market, some of them continue their transport activities and engage in trade by arranging periodic trips on regular routes.
